Bush Breaks Pearson PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Michael Pearson may have to put the remainder of his season on hold, after a reckless passing move by Drumlish rider Damien Mulleady in Saturdays Bush Road Races, forced Pearson into a 120mph crash, resulting in Pearsons GSMCC 600 Honda being totally wrecked, leaving the 32 year old Ballygowan man with an £5,000 repair bill.
Pearson, who had been taking part in Saturdays Road Races at Bush in Co-Tyrone, had his lucky stars to thank, with Pearson only suffering whiplash in the accident, which could have been alot worse only for his Dianese Leather taking the toll of the incident, which undoubtedly saved Pearson from serious injury.

Michael Pearson:  "I am totally gutted.  What was he thinking about.  It was nearing the end of the lap, and we had been circulating together for sometime, when Damien tried to take me on the inside of the corner.  There was no room whatsoever, and the next thing I knew was that I and the bike were being catapulted up a field.  I was a bit dazed, but was more concerned for the bike, and when I saw it, I thought, that's it, she wrecked....and wrecked she is.   I am not best pleased with what happend, even though Damien said he was sorry, but that has little comfort for me.   I don't know where that will leave us now for Athea, Skerries, Southern 100 and Scarborough.   Quite frankly, I am skint and have not got the money to fix it, so that's it".

Willis Marshall:  (Team Manager)   "I have never been so angry in all my time involved in this sport.    Someone could have been killed in this moment of mindless stupidity.  Now we are left with a very hefty repair bill, and one that we will most likely be unable to do on our own all because of another riders kamikaze move.   We still have the R1 Yamaha, so that will be all we have to work on for the rest of the season unless someone can bail us out.  Its so very frustrating to say the least."
