The 2008 Tandragee 100 was abandoned on Saturday after Lusk’s Martin Finnegan crashed his 600cc Yamaha and died instantly.

Earlier in the day, Martin and McAdoo Kawasaki Racing’s Ryan Farquhar had been involved in a terrific Superbike race over two legs. Martin was leading Ryan when the race was red flagged but Ryan won the re-started, second leg of the aggregate race on the new 2008 ZX-10R Kawasaki Superbike. Ryan pulled a victory wheelie on the start-finish straight and it probably cost him the win as on aggregate time, Martin Finnegan won the race by 0.4 seconds. Perhaps it was the best outcome with the events which would follow.
