Hi, since my last columm to say things have been hectic would be an understatement . I've had my first outing at Scarborough a couple of weeks ago since breaking my leg at the 2006 UGP, it was fantastic to be back racing, I've missed it so much but all the pain and hardship has ben well worth it. No doubt many of you will have read the press release that Team Manager Gaynor Firth put on various sites. I was really pleased with the results after an eighteen month lay off, 6th and 2nd on the 250 from the back row of the grid.
We had a spot of bad luck with the ex McAdoo 600 Kawasaki, and it didn't help matters when I slid off the Kawasaki. My 600 sponsor Doug Foster of Anslow Designs LTD has been busy getting the bike ready for the NW 200. Doug is actually doing a track day at Mallory Park this Friday, so Doug take it steady mate (yeah lol !!)
The other big news is that I've split from the VRS performance team run by my old mate Robbie Silvester (and thanks mate for body respray being done so fast). I wish Robbie and his team all the very best for the coming season. I will now be running under the GDR Racing Team banner. This has always something I've wanted to do and now I have my own race team!
This has been possible because of all the hard work that both Doug and Team Manager Gaynor Firth over the past few weeks. Thanks alot Doug and Gaynor, you have both turned my dream into reality.
We will be bringing in at least two more riders into the team, and we've received positive feedback from interested parties. I'm busy in the gym and swimming getting into shape to ensure I'm in tip top condition. The whole team is buzzing with excitement for the season and I can't wait to get going. So any of you over at the NW 200 please come and see us and say hi.
Well thats all for now stay safe and see you all soon.
