Written by PRF Racing

PRF Racing is proud to announce the recent signing of Duleek based Strabane Roadracer Ryan McCay.

Ryan had his first shake down two weeks ago testing one of the PRF Suzuki 750’s he will compete on in this year Manx Grand Prix. He put the machine to test during the heavy rain on Saturday at the Ty-Croes Circuit in Anglesey, to follow on Sunday competing in the Wirral 100 Powerbike Club round finishing in a fine 9th place being the 1st 750 home also putting in some excellent lap times.

Ryan will have use of a stable of machinery and will be joined by the experienced Carl Rennie who will be on hand to help Ryan though out the year.

Joining Carl and Ryan again will be ex-grasstrack Champion Scott Wilson and ex-New Era and Wirral 100 Champion Steve McDonald.

Ryan will be taking in various short circuits in the UK and Irish Roads, to include the Northwest 200 and the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix.

Team owner Paul Rennie commented “We are very pleased to have Ryan on board and know that Ryan will give 110 percent with the support we can give him, and the whole team is looking forward to the year ahead.'

Ryan commented “After spending time with PRF and testing the bikes I found both the team and bikes to be very professional and committed to providing me with a great package, the 750 was fantastic during the weekend and I cannot wait to get out on the new 600 that the team are building for me. I would like to thank Paul Rennie of PRF Racing, Dereck Rennie of PRF Engineering and Steve Holding from Diamond H Transport for providing me with this opportunity also a big thanks to my own sponsors back home.'

The team competed at the weekend putting in some impressive results with Carl Rennie taking two wins on the day in the Powerbike race, Scott Wilson finishing 6th on the PRF 1000 Suzuki and Steve McDonald taking the second 750 slot.

The team are next out at Oulton Park on the 12th April followed by their first pure road race outing of the season in Ireland for the Cookstown 100.
