USM is ultra sonic motor Savo but don't be fooled - was your Sigma 300mm around £80? if so it's the same as mine and the 'USM' is a joke!!!!!!!

I should be on commission :lol: :lol: . Got mine in Jessops, lisburn. Speak to Matthew in there. A good salesman but will keep you right as he is a king photogragher. Got the standard lens with it which everyone appears to slag off but its mighty fine to me. You get a case with their deal aswell. But theres no room for me sandwiches and flask anymore :lol: :lol: :lol: I also got a sigma 300mm lens as well and a good memory card. Dont know what usm and non usm means. I have not got to that stage yet in the booklet :? :oops: :? . Beware paddockgossip.com a canoneox350dgossip.com may arise out of this one :lol: :lol:

It was the lisburn store I was going to go. Our cub has to go get his brace inspected so thought i would make the one trip do

Hubby has an old canon AV1, he was trying to buy a new lens for it and was a tad miffed to find it classed as a vintage or classic camera!!

Cheers for that!

Now are there different types? I know they come in different memory sizes but is 1 compact flash the same size as another? So that if I buy one from ebay that its gonna fit the camera?? Also I have seen that they come in different speeds? what difference does that make if any? :oops:

Sorry for being a pain :goodman:

Compact Flash type I and II cards are compatible with EOS 350D. There are also different transfer and recording speeds, high speed is allways better

I'm using Kingston card's

USM = Ullta Sonic Motor

Nearly all new lenses have some sort of USM

Also be aware of IS (Image Stabiliser) and Non IS Lenses

IMHO Non IS lenses are better for motor sport.

The best bit of advice I have ever received (from probably the worlds best bike racing photographer) is "Keep pressing the button"
