UGP 2009 - Admission format 1 Year, 2 Months ago
I am going to be shot down for this and I do not want be tyre kicking any event. Thats my terms and conditions read out so hear goes......wish me luck

As quoted in the Newsletter 30 June 2009 "We made the change based on public opinion, as a lot of spectators wish to keep their programme as a collectors item and found it impractical having to use it to gain admission".

Yes. A very justified reason. I have the 2008 programme and it looks like I but it through a wash (several times) but Savo is still be happy with his momento/souvenir or more importantly a reminder of Leathemstown. A water damaged programme. Priceless. Are people still that worred about keeping their programmes in A1 condition. I must be odd

I wish The UGP well as for me it's the best road race and the best International event you can ever get. However to hand over £10+£10 = £20 in cash worries me from a spectators perspective and I am surprised that no one else has expressed this opinion on the forum so far !!!!!

I'll pay me £20 because thankfully compared to a few mate's at the moment who have lost their jobs over the past 8 months I for once will be capable of paying the £10 admission and the "optional" £10 for the official race programme and thats not including my Ulster mug, t-shirt, my fast food fix (thats why my Ulster GP T Shirt will be XL this season )and renewing my UGP supporters club membership. I have not won the lottery or lotto but when you see your local pub's closing and local fims shut down or on three day weeks and everyone watching their budgets at the momemt makes me just wonder about it.

Anyone any other views on this or do will all just eat our burgers and be quiet about it ?

Savo, I agree with you that 20 big ones seems like alot of money espically when people are really struggling at present but! and there is a but the Ulster really needs the finances this year. If you compare what you recieve for a full weekends racing compared to what you get for a Premiership football match, we dont do too bad. But as i said i understand times are hard and road racing officals have to understand that too. Here's hoping the economic gloom disappears soon.

I would perfer (prefer?) if you had to buy the programme to gain admisssion, I will pay for both, but many others will not and we will be back to "could you let me look at your programme a second" "who is number 77" "What bike is number ?? on" "whats the next race" etc. It is ok to tell some people where to go, but telling a 6 foot gorilla to get stuffed is not the best way to enjoy an afternoon.

Compared with Athea last week with 15 euro for admissin and 15 euro for a programme, Dundrod is the better value. That is two full meetings, the Dundrod 150 and the UGP.

Also, I read somewhere that by buying both the programme and paying the £10 entrance guarantees the individual a dry weeks racing. I can't remember where I saw that so don't quote me, it may have been on the bottom of one of Lidl's fineist red.But after the last two years I think we are due it.
