What Michael did at the NW200,should have attracted hin the type of sponsorship,that fee paying, would never have been an issue...

What we have to ask,is why didn't this happen...

There are loads of great teams out there... why hasn't he been approached....

Who had the bikes to offer him for the TT?
Both JMF and McAdoo stated that they would not be competing there.
Phase One didn't waste any time snapping up his services and the results he gave them were excellent.

So wheres all the top machinery now.......

William seems to be doing better, and he never even got round a lap on the NW....

Im probably wrong, but I sense an underlying frustration in your postings, like there is something in particular that is getting to you? Billyblade and I are interested in giving up some of our free time to try to raise a few quid for a young man who has impressed us hugely. The fact that Michael is a "Dunlop" has absolutely no bearing on my personal reasons for wanted to help him, absolutely and utterly not.

Without going into too much detail, Michael's galant efforts on the roads, his maverick riding style, his likeable down to earth nature, and most of all, the qualities that he displayed as a human being (never mind as a rider) at the NW this year has made him very "special" to me. This is nothing more than a simple case of getting off my ample rear end, and at least trying to give something back.

I absolutely appreciate what you are saying about the riders who receive little recognition and/or financial assistance, honestly I do, and you are 100% right. I know its not fair, but this sport is just the same as any other in that regard. I can only speak for myself and my close friends in saying that I have the same respect for the man who finishes first and last in any road race.

I suppose at the end of the day its down to the fact that some riders push the buttons on your heart more than others. Michael has certainly done that, and I am eternally grateful to him for doing that.

You are exactly right queenie...

Firstly, let me say, I have no problems with any of the top riders... for what they do, they don't get near enough, neither recognition wise, nor financially...

but it seems that unless you are doing well, and are closely followed by the media, nobody is interested in helping you out... its always been this way in roadracing...

I am closely related to a few racers, who find it near impossible to get any help...

It just frustrates me, that the majority of the riders get ignored...

Why don't people put some effort into raising funds for them...???

People support different riders for different reasons. I support Michael and I will put as much effort as I can into raising funds for him.

I have no gripe with anyone raising money for Michael, or any other rider... I probably have helped Michael, William and Robert out more, than any of you posting on this thread... show me where I once said Michael only rides for the money...

If you took the time to read my posts, instead of mouthing off, you'd see they are nothing to do with Michael, or any other specific rider..

I am however entitled to voice my own opinions on the matter... and intend to do so...

I do not think you are getting at me at all. I think you are voicing legitimate opinions and views.
This thread however is aimed at raising awareness of the fact that both Queenie and myself are trying to set up a supporters club for Michael. Whilst I agree with some of your sentiments, I do not agree with you using this thread as the place to voice them. If you want to air them then start a thread to that effect.
