I've just got home from practice to read this devastating news. I cant believe its true, i'm completely numb. I was speaking to Robert on Tuesday night and he was upbeat about his chances this week and rightly so. i just dont know what to say. I rang my dad and niether of us could say much. My heart goes out to all the Dunlop clan, a great family who have my dearest sympathies.
Robert you where a legend and a gentleman in equal measure, I'll always treasure the memories of watching you race and the time you took to sign autographs, pose for pictures and answer my stupid questions! I'm sure joeys waiting for you and now you can rerun those magical races over and over again. the paddock wont be the same without you.
God bless from Conor and Rick

Just want to add my deep sadness at the passing of one of our greatest riders "Robert Dunlop". He was loveable character and a fierce competitor. I'll always remember seeing that famous white and black helmet at the many race meetings over the years. It was great to see some of the 125 race grids in recent times and hearing the "Dunlop" name in racing continue through Robert, Michael, William and Sam.
Robert you will be dearly missed for your talent, guidance, and sportsmanship. You were a true road-racer and defied numerous injuries to compete in the sport you loved. May you throw down your crutches and walk tall in heaven. God Bless wee maun.
My thoughts and prayers go to Roberts wife, children, and family circle.
RIP #4
