The IOM's answer to 'the new' TT 1 Year, 2 Months ago
TT Races at Billown in 2008

The Southern 100 M.C.R.C has been approached by the Isle of Man Department of Tourism & Leisure to run 2 TT races at the 2008 Steam Packet Races on the 9th June 2008. At a recent meeting if the directors of the club it was unamiously agreed to take this on board. The races will be for 125cc machines and 250cc machines and will carry full TT status with the winners being presented with the respective TT trophy for that particular class, together with the other benefits a TT win can bring. There will be full TV and press coverage of the races and hopefully with our course restriction of 32 machines we hope to have full grids.

Whilst the agreement is in principle further meetings are required between both parties and details will be posted on this site when they become available

Very much depends on whether you subscribe to the conspiracy theory of history, or alternatively the cock-up theory :!:

Or perhaps just buck stupidity :?:

S100, sort out your cast list :!: :!:

personally i think its a load of b****x i have replyied on another site in no way can you say u have won a tt by covering 10/15/20 laps of the s100 ccourse why dont the TT just bring back 2 strokes and that be the end of story the reason is they are just to stubborn to admit defeat and admit there there wrong by dropping them in the first place
long live 2 strokes
im sorry to say this, only one man had the guts to say it on manx radio
IF JOEY DUNLOP WAS STILL ALIVE 2 STROKES WOULD STILL BE RACEING AT THE TT

weither this is a wound up or not i dont give a toss theres still room at the tt proper for 2 strokes

I can see what they're trying to do, they're trying to give the variety that the TT no longer offers, trying to get two strokes racing on the island during TT, as the riders are already there. It is in some respects a good idea but to call it 'full TT status' is as Joe says ' a load of b***ox'.
It would be like awarding the winner of the badminton horse trials the Grand National Trophy!!!????
I still think it would be best to bring TT riders back into the MGP 250/125 and run two races within one, a full TT International and National MGP 250's in the same race with winners for each class, TT riders starting first then Manx riders second, followed by the 125's, TT riders first, MGP riders next. Also run this event on Monday of race week moving the classic senior to Friday, so both Senior events are on the last day of MGP. This would also make sure theres more people on the island in the event of a mashal shortage?
Points of view have been sent to Harvey and Paul.

Re: The IOM's answer to 'the new' TT 1 Year, 2 Months ago
your spot on russ with what you say there is defitnitly room for that at the manx but you know what there like they would have to spend money to bring them there i recon if they went for it one of the first entrys would be john maguinness another robert dunlop barry davidison gav bell sam dunlop the list is endless
i support the strokers but to race at the s100 course and call it a tt win is beyond me dont think it would get the strokers to come at the end of the day its all about money
if the s100 had a prize fund of 10,000 they would have a full grid of strokers think thats 45 riders sadly they dont have that sort of prize money in fact if any clubs here had real big money up they would be overcome wiht entries
anyone win the lotto out there fancy sponsoring good prize money to the strokers heres your chance

Not even as "good" as that, Joe.

Southern 100 circuit can only start 32 :!:
