Yup cool 8)

Toseland's press release:

Following weeks of speculation, James Toseland would like to confirm that he will not continue to ride in the Superbike World Championship in 2008. The British rider has decided to pursue his MotoGP ambitions next season.

Confirmation of the decision at this early stage in the season enables a much wider window of opportunity for the HANNspree Ten Kate Honda team to secure a high calibre replacement. However, the main focus for James for the remainder of the 2007 series is securing the championship title.

"I would like to thank the team for all of their help and support, " says James. "I have enjoyed two of the best years of my racing career with Ten Kate and Honda, and HANNspree has been a fantastic sponsor this year. I could not have achieved as much as I have without the team's assistance and expertise and I remain 100 per cent committed to securing the title for them this year. I would like to wish them the best of luck for the future."

James would prefer not to discuss future matters at this time while he concentrates on the task at hand. He respectfully requests that the media honours his decision.

oooohhhfff. now that was not what i expected from toseland. just like vermin he's just a bit too impatiant with honda i reckon.
i don't see tech3 competing for podiums next year either.

hmmm. i really thought toseland would have opted for a works ride. i think he played his card a bit early this time.

well. good luck to him anyway.

I am unusre about the move too- i dont think he will rock the world, but it is better to finish outside the top ten on a poor bike than get a works ride and finish outside the top ten. At least now when he has poor results he can always blame the out of date bike. He can have a season of learning how to ride premier class and then work his way up to a works ride.

I wonder who will be his replacement rider?

Jonathan Rea
Regis Laconi
Michel Fabrizio

Rea is a good call, but I reckon Hodgson might also be a good call!
I reckon it could be a good move for James-it looks like they will be on Michelin's next year and the bike ain't that far from Rossi's. If he gets a string of top ten results that will be as much as anyone would be expecting and the bike is certainly capable of that.
He had a number of offers and Burnett and him ain't stupid, who knows what he was promised at Yamaha!
Be good to see him racing in MGP.
But who is leaving the Yamaha team? Guintoli? Probably, which is harsh of course, but no better than most brits have had on a 1 year contract!

Yes would also like to see Johnny Rea get the ride and hope he doesn`t hang around BSB too long like Tommy Hill has, another very talented young rider that perhaps left it a season or so too long to make the move onto the world stage.
Think Hodgson will stay stateside making big money nowadays.

Caparossi has got in a big huff with the way Ducati have been treating him. I wonder will he be thinking of joining the WSBK gang? That would be major coup if he did. Perhaps the beard could talk him into it.
