McWilliams in hospital


Jeremy McWilliams crashed heavily this afternoon at Jerez, and reports from hospital suggest that the veteran star has badly broken his left leg and collarbone.
McWilliams lost the front of the Ilmor X3 800 at the fast left turn four at Jerez, cart wheeling through the gravel while the bike itself managed to clear the catch fence such was the severity of the crash.
MCN understands McWilliams is due to undergo surgery tonight to insert a rod into his left femur. The 250 GP winner is also suffering from a badly hurt left hand which may require the amputation of a finger.

eeek. not so good, i had that job done on my leg a femoral nail they call it, very successful op but wouldnt fancy another one,hope they can save the finger. :!:

poor bugger! cant really see him being ok in six weeks like ive read elsewhere. i did both femurs last year and they are only just right.

Me thinks that the leg must be well on the mend Jeremy pulled up outside my house tonight driving his 4X4
