I read the bit that Michael Pearson had about the ISB in RRI, he didn't go into details about its downfall, what is the story?

Apart from the Irish Bike paper, Isb and Clubmans get very litle coverage, all the others are more interested in Roads, Moto GP, WSBK and BSB. Maybe the "Local Rags" need to put some effort into more coverage of our local sport. The other side of it how often do you see any pre and post race reports by clubs themsleves.

I contribute a little to the local rags. As far as the ISB goes, I, along with all the other local Motorcycle correspondants for the other papers are still waiting on our first ISB Press Release which we were promised would happen on a regular basis in 2008. We did get one at the launch in March, but to this day I for one and I know the others, have still to recieve any information whats so ever on the 2008 ISB. I dug deep myself and went on the prowl for the Championship tables up until the end of July. I got two sets of tables, from two very reputable people in the know, and guess what, both points tables are showing riders with differing points... It really is at a loss. Personally, I would take over the ISB PR role myself, free, if I was left alone to do it.

Thank you, I am not a regular attender of ISB, but this nothing has stirred me to attend. The reason may be that there is no coverage to arouse an interest. With Michael Pearsons bit and it being dicussed here, shows that any publicity is good pubicity.
The local papers would surely only be too glad to get something to print to help promote the racing.
Willis what is the story about the Boost sponsorship?

Well, it goes like this. Every Sunday morning I walk around to my local garage to buy the Sunday Life. As was always the case, I bought it along with another tin of energy drink, which I would drink on the way back home, as I can be a bit thirsty on a Sunday morning. This particular morning, the shop had none of the energy drink that I was looking for and I bought a tin of Boost. While reading the paper, and on the computer at the same time, still with tin of boost close at hand, I read the boost website out of the corner of my eye, www.boostdrinks.com. Almost at the same time I was about to type in bikeanimal.com, and for what ever reason, typed in boostdrinks.com. When the main page came up it was telling that a new brand of boost was to be launched in April 08. That was when I said to myself, hello there, here is a possible sponsorship package if I get in touch with these people now. New sponsors are alway excited about motorsport, so the rest is history and thats how it came about.

Yes there is an issue with Clubs failure to self promote but that is no excuse for so called Local racing bike mags to not give better coverage. Here is a fact, when the "3" big ciruit races are on you cant move for press and photographers, but outside of that you struggle to see any press and only see the hardcore of dedicated photographers.
I have sat in the press area at Bishopscourt and witnessed a well know press reporter sent though reports. In the paper the report reads as if the reporter was trackside and seeing all the action when in fact he never moved from a timing screen expect to get his free food and drink.
On one occasion he ran out at the end of a feature race to tell the winning riding what a brilliant race he had rode and patted his back, basically sucked his arse, why , becasue he is a top level rider.Funny how he never does the same for winners of other classes.
Forget Moto GP, BSB, WSBK, get along and watch a Clubmans and ISB Racing.

I don't know who you are saltire88 and suppose I never will, so why not tell me your real name!!!. Unless you have something to hide, that should not be a problem, as I would like to discuss some of your comments to you face to face. You raise some very valid points, and some points that I do not agree with, but such is life. In your comments about the three big races, that is fine. Its the same in any type of sport. How many Press men will you see at a Comber Rec v Killyleagh? Brantwood v H&W Welders?, North Down v Downpatrick in the cricket, Clandeboye v Scrabo in the Ulster Cup (Golf)? Simple, maybe one, or in some case two, the hardcore as you call them.. If it was Linfield v Glentoran, Ulster v Lenister, etc etc, you will get an infux of press. Its no different in the two or four wheeled sport. The bigger the occassion, the bigger the importance, hence the bigger picture in the press.
