In a few words, he explains why he has withdrawn Irish Racers association with the Irish Superbike Championships.

You cant withdraw from something that you where not part of in the first place excpet in your own business mind.

In short Irish Racer wanted there name plastered everywhere at ISB meetings in return for a few tickets at there dinner night.

Re:Irish Racer 3 Months ago
I don't think plastering our name around the circuits was the idea! We wanted to help the series – as requested by a number of riders. If you read the article you will see that all I wanted was some form of contact with a YES or NO answer. If I was going to 'plaster' our name around anywhere, it certainly wouldn't be worth getting out of bed to do it at an ISB event – not in its current state.

Irish Racer is there to support all forms of racing, and for the record, I would like to see local circuit racing back where it belongs. Then and only then, we might just consider putting up a few banners!

Surely if you think it is in such a bad state then why ask to have your name associated with it. Don't get me wrong your business idea was great, minimum input for maximum output, I am mean thats how the best companies survive.

Would it not be better to resolve the problem with the MCUI in private, because from I see giving them bad press only makes matters worse and any potential sponsors might be put off.

Re:Irish Racer 3 Months ago
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Irish Racer was asked by Kirk Jamseson and other riders at the start of the year to help and try and raise the profile of ISB as the MCUI (The people that should be doing it!) would or could not do this. Irish racer give excellent coverage to both ISB and Clubmans Racing in Ireland and are one of the few publications that actually bother to any great extent. I would have thought sponsorship in any form from them as a publication could have only been good for ISB and the meeting at Ballykelly, but as usual the MCUI seem to want sponsors who provide cash without any input or advertising for that matter. While they continue the way they are going they will never attract a major sponsor. At least Irish Racer could have made the whole thing look a bit more professional. Irish Racer were correct in making this point public as it seems to me they tried very hard over a period of time to sort this out without even the courtesy of a response! As far as putting off potential sponsors? I'm sure there is a long line of people offering their hard earned money to throw into the ISB.......no, I wonder why?

Would you have accepted the offer as a good buisness investment.

I am not defending the alleged MCUI's lack of response, the original poster defends the editors comments and I am simply saying that I belive they where right to reject it.

The value of publications it down to personal view. Colum inch for colum inch, then Irish Bike is the best publication for local news etc.For MOTO GP and WSBK and pics of Grid Girls then Irish Racer is the best.

Re:Irish Racer 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Just to close this topic out. Yes I agree that Irish BIke give a more comprehensive service to the Clubmen and well done to Mark Hamilton and his team for that.

But just to point out – we do not [as yet] cover World Superbike. The only coverage from that paddock comes in the form of Jonathan Rea's column, which we make no apology for, as he is Ireland's top two-wheeled star and well on his way to becoming one the Ireland's greatest of all time.

Thanks

Irish Racer
