500 V MOTOGP 880 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago
This was inspired by something Scobie said on another thread. If Honda or Yamaha could ever develop an engine management/traction control system to work on a two stroke, stick some of the latest motogp tyres on a factory 500 and fire in the latest spec suspension, how far away would it be from a modern day 880?

I reckon it would be some race, just curious what some of the curu's on here think!! So come on, lets hear ye!!

I'm not sure of the answer to that one Wacey, you do mean a modern day MotoGP 800 (As opposed to 880) don't you? When MotoGP went to 990 4 stroke AFAIK the 2 smokes were outlawed (With one years grace to the smokes) No team would consider any further development unless the rules changed again.

Sorry tullyhubbert of course I meant an 800cc. My point is that scince the demise of the two stroke from the premier class, huge improvements have been made on the rideability of a gp motorbike with advances of tyres, traction control ect.

Im a die hard stroker fan.My hypothetical question comes down to a 2 stroke v 4 stoke debate. If some type of traction control could be devised for a 2 stroke and other factors kept the same eg tyres, suspension, which bike would come out on top?
