Edwards back in WSBK?! 1 Year, 3 Months ago
|
|
I think it is only a speculation, but i read on motogp site that Texas Tornado considering his future in Motogp is thinking about come back to WSBK series. I think it would be good for Colin. Tech 3 is a testing ground for machines, top results are not so important, it´s Rossi´s job. The times of RC 45 and SP1 with Colin onboard, it was great, I would love to see him again battle with old friends

i think Colin needs a new team in moto gp wheres he is the number 1 rider!!WSBK!!he deserves and can do better than that!!in that case he will win the WSBK championship unless bayliss does a really really good year!!

edwards is a bit of a mystery to me. he's clearly a top class rider, but being team-mate with THE best rider i reckon has lowerd his ambitions.
i'm sure he can do shitloads better than he's been delivering the past couple of years, but i also reckon it will take some major psyching up to the task.

colin's moto gp future isa question mark and it all begun when fiat yamaha announced that jorge lorenzo will be rossi's new team-mate in 2008. i agree with you jonny, colin should ride for a team in moto gp where they would have him as number 1 rider. i think he's too good for world superbikes, i think he should stay in moto gp. i'm guessing that colin could ride for rizla suzuki cause kawasaki have announced they have signed john hopkins for 2008 so suzuki could be a possibility for him. i can't really see him ride for tech3 yamaha, with toseland already signed for them and guintoli and tamada have been excellent for them. he did of course ride for castrol honda wsbk under neil tuxworth and i know them two did get on and maybe tuxworth could consider offering him a ride in moto gp for one of the honda teams. maybe though if colin can't find a team in moto gp (if his future with fiat yamaha is definatley over), which is likely, then maybe he should go back to wsbk. stoner for the world title!!

In my opinion, he should, it´s the only opportunity to be on top. MotoGP belongs to young guns now, look at Barros, he was almost always in top 4 in wsbk last season, and now in Mgp he isn´t even in midfield...on the other hand Biaggi as a former mgp rider is now second in wsbk standings...

as in all sports self confidence is what gives you that little extra edge on top of talent and training.
if you've been off the "top" for a while i think you really need a fresh new start to make it good again.
i also think wsbk would be the key for cool colin.
look aswell at what bayliss did last year. after having showed the boys how to do it in wsbk, he did his magic in that last motogp race. i mean that should absolutely NOT be possible!!! just guess the feelings capirex must have gone through... i think that might even have sunk into rossis head and "helped" a little bit to his crash.
psychology.

colin's 8th in the championship on 88 points, which i think is terrific. he is certainly having a better season than we all think, so i think he should stay at moto gp and i think if he does he will go even better next season.

But I think that staying in Motogp means for Colin stagnation. Even if he is now 8th in standings, he wont achive nothing more next year as he is going to leave one of top teams for some of background stables. I think that he could be again first row rider in wsbk. Biaggi, Bayliss, Barros we have enough examples of riders that after some mgp disappointment or lack of succes where top class ridrs in wsbk.

Colin will stay in Motogp for 2008 in Yamaha Tech 3 Team. But it is going to be he´s last season in this class. In 2009 Edwards whants to ride in AMA.
