A number of 125cc and 250cc teams came to Spain for a two days of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. Todays first run-out commenced in cloudy and cool conditions with several showers during the whole session. A healthy group of Aprilia and Honda riders are present at the Spanish track including the debuting 250cc Honda LCR rider Eugene Laverty who met his new colleagues and his new competitors for the first time today. The 20 year-old Irish rider, who raced in the British Supersport Championship in the last two years, get into his Honda RS250 Kit for 15 laps under the watchful eye of his Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello and his Technical Director Paolo Cordioli.
Eugene Laverty: “Today I came here and everything was completely new for me: the bike, the track and the team. Unfortunately the weather conditions were quite bad today so I was not able to go about my business in the best way. Honestly the first lap on the RS250 was quite strange! In the last two years I raced in a different championship on different bikes and I have to work step by step with my team to find the right set up and the right feeling on track. I made 15 laps in total but I hope in better conditions for tomorrow”.
