and like if it's money they need, as a spectator, i will pay the amount!

i look at it this way, i watched some of the UTD v. Milan match last night, and passion and dedication of the United fans can't be denied, and like its obvious they would go to the lengths to save their sport and their team, well national road racing is my United! lol. and id go to the lengths for it as a spectator!

But i will say one thing, i am getting more and more frustrated with the lack lustredness the MCUI are displaying, in my eyes. To be honest im not too impressed with them.

watching a programme on the discovery channell the othernight, in canada some 80 tree fallers are killed every year in the lumber jacking trade, we dont see much of this on our news

Pointing out how dangerous other sports are will not help this sport.

It is a very dangerous sport for riders and spectators and it is run by amateurs. If the sport is to continue we all have to think out of the box and stop this attitude of everyone being against us.

I have stood at Tandragee trying to sell programmes and the number of people who refuse to buy programmes is disgusting, these are the same people who will tell you that they are great race fans and are now beating thier chest because they are worried they will not get anymore free days out.

While other sports and activities may incur more injuries and deaths, it is not for us to point the finger, we don't like it when others do it to our sport. Couldnt agree more scrz.

as we also are aware when very little is happening in the news anything to do with road racing seems to get a twist put on it as it stirs passions for and against it therefore sells papers. yes we need to protect our sport to the best of our abilities and make it as safe as possible.... but there will always be a danger element to it. that cant be removed. problem is anybody involved in safety is trained with the notion all accidents are avoidable and preventable but unfortunately this is not the case. you cant eleminate every factor that can contribute to an accident in any sport just minamise the risks as much as possible. i feel that all cubs promoting races be it amature & volunteers and even clubs that do get help from outside consultants do as much as they can to minimise these risks. we will have to accept that no matter how much we love our sport there will always be someone somewere wanting to bad mouth it, thats something we will just have to accept.

very true! and ive watched the same people hurl abuse at marshalls when asked to vacate prohibeted areas!or even vacate the road when the bikes are goig round,,,

wev`e got a very unique passion here that no one from the outside understands!or even cares about,,until someone gets injured or god forbid loses their life.
so the onus is on us from within to look after our own

In my opinion a lot more of the blame for the state of motorcycle racing in this country,should be laid at the door of the MCUI.
What have they had to say lately,and any organisation is only as good as it's leader.
Not so much noise now from some of the people who do all of the talking at meetings,just get hold of a set of minutes and you will see what i am talking about.
A few years ago when some younger people showed an interest in the organisation,they were talked down at every opportunity and so the experts who thought that they knew best are now leading a sinking ship.

Savo that is exactly the point that i was trying to make ref the MCUI.
Ryan was even one of the people that i was referring to as being one of the younger ones who were drove away.
That organisation is in a mess.

Is it time for the race organisers and riders in NI to open talks with the Dept of Culture Arts & Leisure on setting up a new organisation to run road racing and forget about MCUI? Government funding does seem to be available if spent correctly and the Minister has recognised the potential benefits to tourism.
