Mathers Chicane 6 Months, 1 Week ago
What's people's opinion on this?

i read in RRI that they have drawn out plans for a chicane to be put in place on the entrance to mathers cross, thus lowering the speed, after the widening of the corner, the exit trajectory would be forcing riders out towards the garden wall of the house on the left hand side of the exit.

William Dunlop doesnt seem to happy having said "it's terrible" and that the only machines capable of getting out of without the clutch on are 125's.

i think that something was needing done in the end, but id rather see them do a great job rather than the one that seems to be coming our way.

william Dunlop should realise that being a "local" rider he does not have any right to criticise the chicane.

How do you work that one out?

Every rider who has to negotiate any corner of a circuit has the right to voice their own opinion on it if they're not happy, why on earth should he have no rights because he's "local" ?

I cant see any off the NW organisers asking William Dunlop or any other local riders what they think .
Really it all depends on what the top english stars think.
And if William thinks the only bike that wont need the clutch comming out off this new chicane is a 125 then he must have turned it into a four stroke because they are on the clutch everywhere.
A real pitty this chicane is going in, that's another great corner gone.

Personally I'd rather see a corner gone, as another rider..

And Armoy are putting a silly chicane in too.
Maybe one should ask the riders what they think off these chicanes, I know I have never ever heard a rider say they like them, they all (that I have talked to) hate them.
