We received the following message from Ed Conlan, chairman of the Tullyallan MCC:

Hi, My name is Ed Conlan and i am chairman of a new motorcycle club called Tullyallen MCC, based just outside Drogheda Co Louth ROI and near the M1 motorway. Our location is ideally placed if you come from north or south as all main roads lead here. We are in the process of setting up to run a roadrace on 23/24 Sept 06 and we are running fundraisers in our local pub called the Morning Star with music ranging from Pink Floyd to Traditional Irish. Our next night Fri 7th July will feature Rob Strong (father of Andrew of Commitments fame) and we are having a raffle for some race team fleeces, hats and jackets which are kindly being donated by some big name stars. Al ocal rider Wayne Kirwan who is leading the Dangain Clubs senior support championship is helping us out by amongst other things being featured on our club logo which will feature a print of the Boyne Cable suspension bridge with a rider superimposed on it, we are also running a golf classic on the Friday 4th of August in Moorep! ark Navan with food back in the Morning Star afterwards and golf prizes will be motorbike themed and supplied by kind donation of Tim Clinton of Clinton Enterprises, the golf will consist of 3 ball teams at 240 euro per team and we are looking for sponsers for tee boxes. I will post further updates of developments.

Is this race going to be part of the Road Race Championship?

Not this year surely :?:

Non-championship for the first year - just like the Bush, and Ballybunion last year

Ballybunion carried Championship status last year as, although it was a new event on the racing calendar, it was run by a club that had already run a Championship meeting, ie. Athea MCC.

Bring it on.
