Little bike racing is alive! 2 Years, 7 Months ago
One great thing I thought about the NorthWest 200 last week was the number of bikes in the 125/250/400 race. I would say there was about 80-100 entries in it. Congratulations to the organisers! The 250 race was the closest of the day and proves why it is so loved. It also gave two new winners on a day full of 4 stroke specialists.
I would say there is easily a TT race in that field (especially if you include the likes of Lougher, Anstey, Farquhar etc. who would not ride in the NW200 because of the 5 race rule). It would be fantastic.
Unfortunately the fancied runners at the TT are now dropping like flies and the entry list to me looks light. I am left with the prospect of seeing 4 races with half full grids and no top BSB boys. I just can't get up for it this year. The press coverage all looks upbeat but it hides the real story in my opinion. Don't know which idiot decided to cut the races - bring back the old days, PLEASE!

you have an alternative depending on were you live but i would rather travel to Real road racing in Ireland than watch the so-called new look TT, its sad but the old times we loved will never return? EG: morning practice.

The Southern 100 is by far the best value road race and is better racing, friendly none merchandising money grabbing atmosphere and great value for money those blokes know how to run a race for the real benefit of ALL riders ans spectators like most Irish road races.
Sadly Ian the TT is just a shadow of its former self, dictated by commercial interests and hypefor the benefit of the few. The dwindling spectator numbers and interest over the years say it all.

I'm just going for the middle weekend so will only see the Formula 1. I managed to get a cheapish deal a while back and but for that i'd not have bothered. Hopefully the crack will be ninety but I agree its a long way to go for one race.

Well I got my programme today and there are about 60 sidecar entries so that means about 45-50 starters come race day. So it seams like sidecar racing is dying at the TT and the little bikes are dead. I don't think any of th solo grids will be full come race day either. Something needs to be done about this.
