Michael Pearson acquires ex 2008 Amor Honda 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
Ballygowan rider Michael Pearson has secured the CBR600 Honda that was used by Scotland's Keith Amor in 2008, with Pearson taking delivery of the machine this week.
The bike has been bought in conjunction with the GS Motorcycle Club, after their earlier plans to purchase a 600 Yamaha for Pearson fell through at the last moment.

Michael Pearson: "I hope to get the bike before the end of this week. Its a proven winner as Keith Amor showed this year when he took the bike to third place in the Supersport 600 race at the Isle of Man TT. We had hoped to purchase one of the AIM Yamaha 600 Supersports, but that deal fell through when the asking price went up. I have a good relationship with Keith, and we got talking recently about this and it was him who put the idea of buying his bike into my head. The Honda 600 Supersport has been built by the Ten Kate Honda Racing Team, and we all know just how good their bikes have been in 2008 with Andrew Pitt and Jonathon Rea blowing the rest away in the World Supersport Championships. If all falls into place, I may be riding it at the Sunflower, although we have other irons in the fire at this stage regarding the Sunflower Races".

Willis Marshall: (Team Manager) "Already we have made huge plans for our assault in 2009, and even at this early stage we seem to be 50% towards obtaining our goals. The introduction of the ex Keith Amor 600 Honda into the camp is a big boost for us all in 2009. I believe that Michael can excel in the Supersport 600 class next year, and this along with his Superbike should see him very well equipped against the rest of his rivals. We are currently in talks with two teams regarding machines for the Sunflower Trophy Races next weekend at Bishopscourt. One is regarding a 600 machine, and the other regarding a Superbike. With the likes of Gregoria Lavilla and Chris Walker (Vent Axia World Superbike Honda Team) Michael Rutter (NW200 Ducati) Michael Laverty (Relentless BSB Superbike Suzuki) and Karl Harris (Yamaha UK) all taking part in the Sunflower Races, we will need a machine that will give Michael a bit more power, regarding the Superbike races. We hope to know for sure by the weekend what we have to choose from so until then, we can't say much more".

This new investment I guess means COOKSTOWN, TANDRAGEE, maybe a a TT ????

Surprised with the slow response to this great news.....I blame post season blues on this forum but its great timing and will inject further interest in road racing for us lot in 2009. Perfect timing and a much needed boost as this guy is a winner. That win at Dundrod has educated and raised this lads profile no end and to get Amor's 600 says it all. Finally with all those good people working behind the scene for him all I will say is that Mr Farquhar, Mr Amor, Mr Dunlop & Company...THERE'S A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK !!!!

All the very best Mr Pearson
