What happened at Kyjov at the weekend, I read something on the forum but could not understand it all, the person seemed angry about spectator safety.

There were an accident in supermono class. One of bike hit to spectators who watched race. The rider and one man are in hospital but at the moment I don´t know how serious injures they have....
I wasn´t here but on czech sites many people wrote that security wasn´t good (bumpy road, all circuit in the town, people much near, not much batches...etc)

Irish riders welcome at 300 Zatacek Gustava Havla - Horice

On 23 - 24 May 2009, the annual road races 300 Zatacek will continue its tradition of Czech realroadracing. At this moment the following classes are sure:

125cc Sportproduction
GP125cc
GP 250cc
Supermono
OPEN 600cc
OPEN over 600cc
Classics 350cc
Classics over 350cc

Racing in Horice started in 1961. In 1968 we could to see first international races and an annual events have been organised every racing season since then. Lot’s of riders have raced at Horice circuit over the years.

In last two years, was reconstucted over 3,50 km from 5,15 km of track. The last part (1,50 km) of the circuit got new tarmak in these days.

Irish riders are very welcome. If you consider racing on the mainland of Europe, why not at the best of Czech´s existing real roadrace events? You can compare your riding with riders from Czech republic, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, France, Holland and other countries from all Europe.

The track is very difficult. Length is 5150 metres (about 3,2 miles) and level distance is over 90 metres. One lap has got 17 curves on right and 15 curves on left. One part of the circuit is situated in the town Horice and the second one is in open area (open nature, forrest)
The name 300 ZATACEK GUSTAVA HAVLA means 300 CURVES of GUSTAV HAVEL, because one race has got about twelve laps it represents over 300 curves per one race. The second part of the name is by Gustav Havel one of the best rider in all Czech road race history.
Every year in the last weekend on May we welcome riders from all Europe who compete on the best road race in Continent.
Every year in the last weekend on May comes to Horice over 20000 people to watch road race on the best classic track in Continent.


In database are more than 1000 names of riders from twenty countries from all Europe. In the past we could see riders from Ireland as well and this year we had honor to welcome Victor Gilmore and his crew from Northern Ireland.

Every year there start over than 300 riders who stay in paddock which is all the tourist season using as campsite. There are about fifty cottages, big showers and toilets, two restaurants and many kiosks for refreshments.
The paddock is situated next the start-finish line only 500 metres far from town Horice.
The parcels of straw are put round the track for safe course of races. There are more than 5000 parcels for your security.

If you are interest in start there next year I´m ready to help you with accommodation and the other formalities for start (entry form etc.).



For road race fans
There are many pubs in the town many kiosks with excellent beer and good food round all over track where you can taste great Czech beer and food. If you arrive a few days before races you can see beauty of nature and girls from Czech republic.

That is unfortunately the 300ZGH is the same weekend as the NW200, I can't see many riders from these islands going, their sponsors will want them at the NW with all the publicity it will give them.

I know it but we have problem with promoters of Czech championship. They put to our previous date one of four (!!!!) races of cze champ. The promoter doesn´t want road races in Czech because championship races visit only a few people while road races visit thousands and thousands fans.
