It Would Stop The Starting Fees Fiasco That Michael Suffered A Few Weeks Back.

To be honest it was the starting fees fiasco that gave me the idea.
Michael is just way too talented to lose over silly beaurocracy so if we the fans can help him then why not.
I met with Queenie today along with Mrs. Blade (my good lady!!) and what we discovered was that we were three people who were equally passionate about road racing and in particular young Master Dunlop. What we now need is some more equally passionate people to join us and help keep this young man living his dreams.
So come on guys - lets get behind Michael and make this work!!

I Think That Publicity Would Get This Off The Ground, Theres No Doubting The Number Of Fans And Supporters He Has, And After All He Is A Dunlop.

race fees have always been a big part of fund raising for the circuits...

All riders should pay them... and when those most likely to win the prize money, start to complain... i think its gone beyond a joke..

They are the riders most likely to be sponsored, and yet they still complain..

I was under the impression,the most of these riders raced, for the love of the sport... or was that just the older generation..

When this worldwidely appreciated sport, starts to be influenced, and rides dictated by money... I think that will see its decline...

Which will be such a shame.... but greed is a destructive force...

Lets hope those who race for the love of it, don't get forced off the roads, by the so called 'professionals', who's main goal is monetary....

I think you need to read Michaels column in this months RRI.
He like all but the very top men needs every ounce of support that he can get and I for one will try everything I can to help him.

There are many loyal road riders, in far more financial dificulties than Michael....

I know what I'm going to say will be contraversial, but its true.....

If you have a 'name' in racing, you usually get the benefits...

Loads of good riders out there, are being bypassed, by the 'big money'd glory hunters'...

Its always been the same.... and probably will never change...

I know loads of good privateers, who never got the break, and were every bit as good, as those on 'top machinery'...

Don't get me wrong, I like Michael and William, and I think they are extremely talented, and I wish them well...

Its the lack of support for the 'field fillers', that pisses me off...

Some of them scrimp, scrape, and ride bikes, that these top riders would class as scrap....

but to me, these riders are the lifeblood of roadracing....

If they decided to quit, there wouldn't be enough 'top men' left to sustain the sport....

All I'm asking, is for a bit more recognition, and respect for the mainstay competitior...

If you agree, say so... or am I in the wrong...?

You're not wrong at all but I don't believe for one minute that Michael is in it for the money. It's all he knows and he is a very proud young man, proud of his family name and just like William he wants to keep the family name alive and to the fore.
What he did at the NW200 this year set him apart from every rider there - for that alone he deserves some help.
