As far as the club being disbanded, for whatever reason, I can't comment, as I don't know... I'm sure Big Bill will know...

but to be honest, I don't see how this race being linked to the memories of the Armada, is neither disrespectful, nor discourteous...

I suppose the families should be consulted, (and who's to say,they weren't), but I'm sure, knowing the organisers, linking the race meeting to the Armada, wouldn't even have been considered, if it was going to cause offence, or hurt to the individuals involved...

It annoys me that someone has projected such a negative view on the organisation of the event, before it has even reached fruition...

but as they say, 'you can't please everyone'....

Carry on with the good work guys... roll on Armoy Road Race 2009!!!

Have being watching this post with interest,and have to agree with Corserep,another road race either north or south is a bonus,but a aroad race in Armoy has to be pure magic, and if it happens I would hope to be the first one there.

second one there....... I'd be there waitin' on ye..

No matter where the race is its just good to see another date on the calander..
I'm really glad to see someone have the balls to stand up and try and get this event up and running and they deserve all the support they get...
Were near enough one of the only places in the world where road racing can be watch and we should be fighting to keep it alive,,,

As posted earlier about the likes of the NW and the TT been tourist attractions...
Well yes I do agree to a certain extent what your saying is right ,,,
Such events have become massive and are starting to become costly ..
Personaly I would rather Kells,Skerries or Cookstown as I feel they are more what road racing are about....

Either way it really makes no difference about all the different opions all that counts is there is still some people out there fighting to keep this great sport alive ...
These people can only do so much but its us the race fans that can make the difference between road racing surviving or dying...
Its our support that makes an idea become reality ...

No, it has changed to the other side of armoy. A bike couldn't be raced on the bregagh rd anymore. far too rough & bumpy!
