If enough interest is shown then we could set up an online facility for donations to be made straight to the club.
What about a PG on-line facility.
Good to see so much interest on this thread. Clearly the word "Armoy" is a brand name ? The stories, the exploits of the Armada and the folklore that surrounds those colorful years will contribute towards an "official" bike race back to its spiritual home in north Antrim.
At the end of the day the Armoy area is regarded by many as the cockpit of road racing in Northern Ireland and the marketing potential for such a race could be substantial.
I would guess that everyone on this forum is supportive of the plans. The Armoy race has always been a great vision for many years and the moves to establish a road race course on the country roads once used to test bikes by Joey Dunlop and his mates would be a great boost for the sport.
Its been great to see the increase in the number of road races in the Republic of Ireland but as corserrep already highlighted, there has been a decline for many a reason in meetings in the North and that in itself is a major concern. Northern Ireland needs another race and Armoy would be ideal. Race fans would flock to the Armoy area for a National meeting even a week of activities incorporated around it all could be of commercial value too.
