Greatest NW200 race 7 Months, 4 Weeks ago
I know a lot of you guys are already on the circuit, but for those who are not there yet or those who will not be going to the Northwest, what is your memory of the best race you've seen on the famous circuit. The 400 (or was it 600) race with Dave Leach, Brian Reid and Steve Ives maybe? The McCallen 250 banzai charge from the back of the grid? Joeys chase after Trevor Nation on the Norton rotary? Steve Cull's famous recovery ride?

Re:Greatest NW200 race 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
god too many to choose from here!!!

I could be wrong here but i seem to remember as a kid a great race between Joey and Roger Marshall.

There have been some awesome 250cc races down the year especially involving Woolsey Coulter.

McCallens charge on the 250 stands out as does the race the year he was punted into the hay bales at Church when Davy Johnstons' brakes failed! (at least that was Davy's story and he's sticking to it!)

Joeys win on the 750cc production honda

Fogarty's double on the Duke, not great racing but his sheer emoition and desire to win, and the fact he brought me into his motorhome that morning to find a pen that worked to sign my programme made it a memorable day for me!

heres a bit of a spinon the question though what about great races to come?

Robert extending his record of wins?
Rutter winning the NW200 on the NW200 Duke on the 80th anniversary?
the first Dunlop superbike win in over a decade?
Wilcox winning a 125cc finally?
First home Superbike winner in over a decade?
Johnny Rea winning where his dad never did?

will any of these happen in the next few years?

Let's go back to the Connor McGinn\Donny Robinson 350 scrap, I forget which year but they are supposed to have changed positions on the last lap on at least six ocassions. That's my tuppence worth.

Remember the 600 race back in the 90's? forget exact year (1994??) but there was 5 or 6 of them battling for win - Simpson, Duffus, Moddie, Mike Edwards, etc and coming into Metropole on last lap no other than Joey Dunlop, who im sure we'll all agree was never really a 600cc great, took the lead only to hit neutral going out of church corner and I think Mike Edwards eventually took the win on the V&M machine.
That year will also be remembered for Robert's ride in both superbike races on the ill-fated RC45. He was unstoppable that day!! Hard to believe what happened 2 weeks later. I'm sure Robert would have been sitting with NW200 wins well into the 20's by now.
